SSCC’s Float in the Bridgewater July 4th Parade
The South Shore Curling Club participated in the Bridgewater July 4th parade this year, entering a float of two big curling stones and a well-decorated trailer and truck. Our Instagram had some behind-the-scenes photos (here and here). Scroll down for photos from the parade, and you can see a video of the parade from the Brockton Enterprise — jump ahead to the 22:30 mark to see us!
Thanks to the club members who helped organize everything, design and build the big curling stones, made signs, decorated the float and truck, and marched in the parade: Kendall, Jane, Kayla, Jill Chapman, Kieran, Karen Quinn, Jamie, LeRoy, Ben, Lisa, Dan, and Mary Beth.
Thanks to family members (Chapmans, Quinns and Reffords, Dave Grossman) and friends (Kelly & Charley Pelissier) who braved heatstroke to march with us, giving out candy and information (hopefully we’ll see some of the parade crowd on the ice in the fall). And special thanks to LeRoy’s dad for lending his truck and Bill Hurley for donating the trailer.
Hope everyone had a happy Fourth!
